Breathtaking Views
Missoula is that rare combination of relaxing ambiance, breathtaking
views, and the sophistication of a big city. With our ideal central
downtown location, the Mountain Valley Inn puts the very best the
city has to offer right at your doorstep. Two blocks away, the Kim
Williams Trail (pictured above) meanders along the Clark Fork River.
Walkers, runners and recreational cyclists come here to walk, exercise,
or just sit on a bench and watch the river flow by. Spend your day
downtown, browsing and shopping at the hundreds of stores, stopping
for lunch at one of the numerous outdoor cafes. In the evening,
choose any cuisine from the dozens of restaurants here. |

Something
For Everyone
Home to some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, Missoula
is a haven of outdoor social activity. Downtown streets bustle with
art lovers on Gallery
Night the first Friday of every month. On Saturday mornings,
Missoula is a boutique shopper's paradise, as nearly 100 vendors
set up shop at Circle Square on the west end of Higgins and peddle
Montana-grown produce, flowers, plants, coffee, and breads. One block
over, on Pine St., wonderfully ornate arts and crafts are available.
Every Wednesday in the summer Missoulians gather by the river in
Caras Park for 'Out to Lunch' (pictured above). On Thursdays Caras
Park is home to Downtown Tonight, with more food vendors, live music
and a beer garden featuring regional microbrews. For a full schedule
of events, visit the Missoula
CVB or the Chamber
of Commerce web sites or check out the A & E Planner in
the Missoulian
newspaper. [ More Events Info

Distinguished Old-World Architecture
A walk through downtown Missoula offers more than just natural
beauty. The architecture reminds us that culture and artistry made
it out West as well. The County Courthouse and spectacular 1889
St. Francis church are just down the street. Next to the river there's
the Wilma Theatre, an old-style movie house that is rumored to have
been the home of Twin Peaks director David Lynch. Take a trolley
tour to view all the sights in town.
